Should the order go to the site trailer or the head office?
Send personal awards and lobby plaques to wherever a named person can sign for them and lock them away. On many projects that is the head office, not the trailer. Equipment tags are the opposite: they are wanted where the machines are, which is usually the yard or the site. One order can be quoted with a shipment for each, and each box carries its own packing list.
What should a site receiver do when the box turns up?
Give the gate or the site office the order reference and the expected contents ahead of time, so the box is not refused or left in a laydown area. Open it indoors. Count plaques and awards against the proof, and count tags against the asset list. A dedication plaque should be checked against its wall position before the mounting day, not on it.
How are orders for projects outside the United States handled?
Put the country, the city and the receiving company in the first message. The written quote then sets out the shipping service and how customs paperwork and duties are arranged for that destination. Remote project sites often receive freight through a logistics office in town, so say which address the customs documents should name and who collects from there.
How should pieces be packed for a ceremony versus an install?
Ask for crew awards grouped by crew or in the order names will be called at the lunch. Ask for equipment tags bagged by yard, vehicle or equipment class, with the IDs listed on each bag. A wall plaque travels on its own with its mounting detail. Keep presentation pieces and working labels in separate inner packs even when they share an outer carton.
